10. Steel Beams and 2 Walk-in Closets...What?!

The weather has been gray and chilly but work has not stopped at 1453 Anderson Ave — hard work, heavy work! The plan for a large open kitchen with access to a covered back porch and a large mudroom needed an addition of square footage. The addition is there! But, in order to create the openness desired, the old back wall (exterior wall) must be removed and opened into the new addition. To carry the weight the former exterior wall bore, a steel beam is placed along the expanse of the new kitchen.

Not one, but two steel beams are installed. The second in the basement giving the new owner even more room for additional living space downstairs.

Remember the upstairs pink bedroom? It’s now been framed off as a second floor laundry room and a hallway created to the new owners’ suite.
